What is the role of homeopathy in the treatment of depression?

What is this project about?

This project, being carried out as part of a PhD programme at the University of Sheffield, aims to evaluate the impact of providing homeopathic treatment in addition to usual care, for patients with self-reported depression. Multiple research methods are being combined to assess the acceptability of this approach, its clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness.

Petter has been a practising homeopath since graduating from the Norwegian Academy for Natural Medicine in Oslo in 1990. He was Chairman of the European Central Council of Homeopaths (ECCH) for 13 years and ECCH Research Working Group Coordinator. He is a founder of, and a coordinator for, the European Network for Homeopathy Research (ENHR). Petter held the post of Research Advisor for the National Information Centre for Alternative Medicine, Norway from 2009 to 2011. He holds a Masters Degree in Homeopathy from the University of Central Lancashire and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sheffield through this project.
